Around and around we go with the Tua rumors. The Lions are in on him, the Lions are out. The Redskins are interested, the Redskins have no interest at all.
In Washington's case, it all relates to the team's commitment — or lack thereof — to Dwayne Haskins.
For Detroit, the less Tua interest from the Redskins, the better.
Reports regarding Washington have varied since the Combine. The Sun-Sentinel, which has been spreading Tua rumors since the offseason began, reported last week the Redskins told Tagovailoa they want to bring him on board to compete with Haskins. NBC Sports Washington suggested otherwise shortly thereafter.
And maybe the clearest message came from the Redskins official Twitter account on Tuesday. With all the chatter surrounding Haskins, which is heightened by the fact the GM and head coach who drafted him a year ago are gone, the team extended the QB a tweet of good faith.

— Washington Redskins (@Redskins) March 3, 2020If this indicates Washington is indeed committed to Haskins, the Lions stand to benefit.
For one, they don't have to fret Washington's pick at No. 2 if they have designs of drafting Tua themselves. Moreover, their own pick at No. 3 becomes the most valuable commodity for teams trying to trade up for the Alabama quarterback.
Bidding war, anyone?
Around and around we go.
