The first overall pick of the 2018 MLB Draft, Mize began this season at Single-A Lakeland, where he went 2-0 with a 0.35 ERA in four starts. He racked up 25 strikeouts in 26 innings with the Flying Tigers, earning the call-up to Erie on April 25.

Mize hit Altoona's Jared Oliva just three pitches into his start. He went on to induce a double play on the next batter, settling in to retire the next 19 batters after the HBP before issuing a walk with two outs in the seventh inning.

Mize, who turns 22 on Wednesday, finished with seven strikeouts.

Mize threw 98 pitches, the most he's thrown in any of his 10 career starts at the Minor League level, but Erie manager Mike Rabelo opted to send him back out to finish the game.

Chad Sedio drove in the only run for Erie when he grounded out to first base, bringing in Jake Rogers in the top of the fifth inning.

It was the second no-hitter by the SeaWolves in less than a week, as Alex Faedo (8.0 IP) and Drew Carlton (1.0 IP) combined to hold the Bowie BaySox hitless last Wednesday.
