ALLEN PARK, Mich. (97.1 The Ticket) — The Detroit Lions announced Tuesday that they have added depth at the quarterback position by signing free agent QB Tom Savage. Contract terms were not disclosed.
Savage is set to compete for the backup job to Matthew Stafford.

April 9, 2019 Savage, a five-year veteran out of the University of Pittsburgh, spent last season with the Bengals and 49ers, but did not play in any regular season games. He last saw the field during the regular season with the Texans in 2017, when he threw for five touchdowns and 1,412 yards in seven starts.
