Mike Valenti is looking forward to this weekend's Lions game.
Why? Because he says win or lose it's all about how they play. If they just stay in the game up the end, he said he'll consider it positive.
"For three weeks, record be damned, they're not playing good football," he added, saying the offense hasn't been able to run the ball, defense hasn't put pressure on quarterbacks. Special teams has missed field goals, extra points, blocked punts.
But no matter how outmached the Lions may be against the best team in football, Matthew Stafford vs Patrick Mahomes is a match-up that everyone needs to see.
"More vocal, more demonstrative, it's kind of the Stafford people have wished for for a long time," Valenti said.
But will it continue? Only time will tell. But Valenti, and others, hope to see it continue.
"(Him saying) 'Trust me, trust me,' a little more demonstrative, more yelling, I hope it continues," the 97.1 The Ticket host said.
Producer Mike Sullivan chimed in, saying he's long hoped to see a more aggressive Stafford so it's gratifying to witness.
The moment where he yelled "trust me, trust me" at the coaches seemed to be a turning point in his facade, and fans should be eager to see more.
"We've never sees Stafford like this before, " Sully said, adding the quarterback seems to be taking control, and firing up his teammates.
