Allen Park, Mich. – The Detroit Lions announced today that they have re-signed LB Steve Longa and DE Mitchell Loewen. Additional contract terms were not disclosed.Longa returns to the Lions after spending the 2016-18 seasons with the organization, playing in 16 career games with two tackles and 11 total special teams tackles during that span. He originally entered the NFL with the Seattle Seahawks in 2016 as an undrafted free agent out of Rutgers.Loewen returns to the Lions after spending a portion of the 2018 season with the team after being claimed off waivers from the New Orleans Saints, where he appeared in three career games over the 2017-18 seasons for the club. He originally entered the NFL in 2016 with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Arkansas.
