Luke Yaklich, arguably Michigan basketball's most important assistant coach the last two seasons, is moving on.
The defensive whiz has accepted an assistant coaching job with Texas, according to John Rothstein.

May 29, 2019 In Yaklich's two seasons at Michigan, the Wolverines ranked among the best teams in the country in defensive efficiency.
If there's any silver lining to the loss, it's that new head coach Juwan Howard is considered a defensive expert himself. That was one of his areas of focus during his six-year tenure with the Miami Heat.
Beilein, meanwhile, was much more of an offensive coach.
In related news, fellow assistant coach Saddi Washington will stay on Howard's staff, according to
The Athletic. Washington, who's been at Michigan for three years, briefly stepped in as head coach following Beilein's heart surgery last summer.
Last week, Howard announced that strength and conditioning coach Jon Sanderson will stay on staff as well. Sanderson played a key role in developing some of the team's best players under Beilein.
