Mel Kiper Jr. Has Lions Drafting Tua Tagovailoa In Latest Mock Draft

If you're a football fan in Detroit, then your eyes will be glued to the TV on Thursday April 23, 2020, when the Detroit Lions select third overall in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Who will they choose? Mel Kiper Jr., of ESPN.com released his newest version of his mock draft and he has our Detroit Lions selecting Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa.

"The Lions say they're not shopping quarterback Matthew Stafford, but there is some buzz that they like Tagovailoa, who might not work out for teams before April's draft because of his hip injury. Is that just a smoke screen? We're still two months away from the draft, of course. Stafford's contract is extremely tough to trade in 2020 -- the team could have up to a $32 million dead-cap hit -- but what if Detroit likes Tagovailoa so much that it keeps Stafford on the roster for another year?

It has been reported that Tua doesn't want the Lions to draft him. It has also been reported that the Lions are looking to trade Matthew Stafford. Even though Bob Quinn has said that report is "100% False."

This is the first big time mock draft that has the Lions taking Tua third overall. Is this the pick you want the Lions to make?
