It's year six for Jim Harbaugh at Michigan, year one for Mel Tucker at Michigan State.
And the respective Big Ten odds for the Wolverines and the Spartans reflect that.
Michigan, once again, is seen as a threat to dethrone Ohio State. After the three-time defending champs at 4/9, the Wolverines have the best odds to win the conference at 7/2, per NBC Sports. They're followed by Wisconsin (9/1) and Penn State (10/1).
It's another lofty forecast for Michigan, which hasn't won the Big Ten since 2004. The Wolverines were the preseason favorite a year ago, then finished third in the Big Ten East. They bring in the No. 14 recruiting class in the country, No. 2 in the Big Ten, per 247 Sports.
The Spartans, meanwhile, are 33/1 longshots. That places them eighth in the conference, one spot ahead of Indiana (40-1) and one spot behind Minnesota (25/1).
Michigan State finished fifth in the Big Ten East last year and underwent an offseason of turmoil after the resignation of Mark Dantonio. The Spartans have the No. 43 recruiting class in the country, No. 10 in the Big Ten.
Rutgers has the worst odds to win the conference at 250/1.
