NASHVILLE, Tenn. (97.1 The Ticket) -- A pair of former Michigan Wolverines were drafted just two picks apart, as DE Chase Winovich was taken by the New England Patriots with the 14th pick of the third round (No. 77 overall) and DB David Long went 16th (No. 79 overall) to the Los Angeles Rams.

With the 20th pick in the third round (83rd overall), the Pittsburgh Steelers drafted former Michigan State DB Justin Layne.

Winovich and Long became the third and fourth Wolverines to be drafted this week, joining Devin Bush (Steelers) and Rashan Gary (Packers). Layne was the first Spartan to be drafted.

Dream come true for @Wino! @Patriots fans will enjoy him in New England. @TomBrady probably will, too. --#GoBlue » #ProBlue | #NFLDraft pic.twitter.com/urdGiIpQRY

Layne and Bush will be tasked with going from hated rivals to teammates in a hurry. Bush is on record saying he hates Michigan State and demonstrated it by stomping on the Spartan logo at midfield before the Michigan and MSU met last fall.
