(97.1 The Ticket) Valenti Show producer Mike "Sully" Sullivan broke into the show Thursday to make one of the bigger declarations of his still-young career.
Before he went on record, host Mike Valenti warned him that he was going out on a limb and would be mercilessly mocked and trolled if what he was about to say was wrong. "You guys do that regardless," Sully said, undeterred.
With that, Sully went for it, announcing he knew who the Detroit Lions were going to take in the NFL Draft.
"I'd like to be the person, the very first person, to welcome Chase Young to Detroit, Chase Young is going to be a Lion, they're going to draft him at No. 3 overall ... He's going to fall to three, I'm convinced of this."
Valenti was unconvinced, saying he didn't believe the source, although Sully was all in on it.
"I firmly think that it's happening," he said, adding that he's hearing Tua could go No. 1.
Would drafting Chase Young at three make every single Lions fan happy? Valenti thinks so.
"Even the people who want to take Tua would be happy. It's the only completely unifying draft pick, Valenti said. "If you took Chase Young, every single Lions fan would be united."
Sully argued it was completely realistic that quarterbacks would go at 1 and 2 and Chase would be left for the Lions. "He's just that generational-type player," Sully said, adding he was "getting excited just thinking about Chase Young in that Honolulu blue."
