Mike Valenti had harsh words for Tigers General Manger Al Avila, saying he had yet to meet anyone who thinks, 'Hey, this dude is razor sharp.'"
He went so far to say if the Tigers rebuild is in the same place in 18 months, Avila should lose his job.
Also, if Matthew Boyd is still a member of the Detroit Tigers by the end of July, it is a "dereliction of duty by the general manager of the Detroit baseball team."
"It is your job, it is your duty to leverage the absolute need in the marketplace for the rare commodty you possess, a left-handed, high strikeout starter," Valenti said, adding, "If you can't generate a deal that makes you say 'yes,' then you're not good at your job."
Boyd should have a "postage stamp on his buns by July 31 and it should bring back a haul to help expedite this yet-to-even-be-started rebuild from a positional standpoint, period," Valenti claimed.
Boyd's trade would land the team a mint, he said.
Untouchable? That's laughable, Valenti said.
