Now that the dominoes have fallen in free agency, we have a clue as to how the Lions will approach the draft.
After they traded Darius Slay, it seems likely they'll target Ohio State CB Jeffrey Okudah -- either third overall or a few picks later.
NFL.com's Lance Zierlein released his newest mock draft Friday morning, and it involves quite a few trades early on. First the Bengals trade the No. 1 pick to the Dolphins, who take Joe Burrow. Then the Lions trade the No. 3 pick to the Chargers, who take Tua Tagovailoa.
Tua Odds-On Favorite To Go Third Overall In Draft
With the Chargers' pick at sixth overall, the Lions get their guy:
With the trade of Darius Slay to the Eagles, the Lions will be ready to turn in the card for Okudah. He's a talented, twitchy CB1 who has room to get even better.
The rest of the return isn't clear, but the Chargers don't have an extra first-round pick to send Detroit's way. They'd surely have to part with their second-rounder (No. 37) overall, which at the very least would give the Lions five of the first 85 picks in the draft.
Is that a trade you'd endorse?
