While players around baseball have been taking shots at the Astros in the wake of their cheating scandal, Miguel Cabrera stands behind Jose Altuve.
Altuve came under fire this offseason for speculation that he was wearing a buzzer beneath his jersey during Houston's 2019 playoff run. He firmly denied it, while also saying he didn't use the sign-stealing system his teammates used in 2017 and 2018.

Cabrera said he approached his Venezuelan countryman about the accusations and was satisfied with Altuve's response.
"I believe he didn't do it because he say that to my face. He looked me in the eye and said he didn't do it," Cabrera told the Detroit News Monday. "I believe him."

That being said, Cabrera added that Altuve can't escape the fact he played for a team that cheated to win.
"When you're involved in a team like that, a team that's doing that kind of stuff, you are part of it," he said. "Even if you didn't do it."

As for the scandal at large, Cabrera said it's time for everyone to move.
"It's over with," he said. "It's not good for baseball. So why keep talking about something that is no good for baseball? It's over. The commissioner made a statement and that's it. We can't do anything more about it."
