Does Mr. Big Shot have a few more in him?
Pistons legend Chauncey Billups is competing in the NBA's HORSE contest, which kicks off this Sunday on ESPN.
The five-time All-Star will need to channel his old form. His first-round opponent happens to be one of the more acrobatic shot-makers in the NBA: Hawks All-Star Trae Young.
Billups and Young are part of an eight-contestant field that also features current NBA players Chris Paul, Mike Conley and Zach LaVine, retired All-Star Paul Pierce, WNBA player Allie Quigley, and retired WNBA All-Star Tamika Catchings.
The rules are simple. The contestants go shot-for-shot and must describe each attempt -- swish, for example. Dunking is not allowed. Single elimination. Each player participates from their respective home gyms to maintain self-isolation.
The quarterfinals start Sunday at 7 p.m. on ESPN. The other matchups pit Conley vs. Catching, LaVine vs. Pierce and Paul vs. Quigley.
The semifinals and the championship game will air next Thursday, beginning at 9 p.m.
