Emotions ran high Monday night in a basketball playoff game between Ypsilanti Lincoln and Ann Arbor Pioneer, and then they boiled over.
After Ypsilanti star and No. 1 player in the class of 2022 Emoni Bates was dragged down while attempting a layup, a skirmish broke out beneath the basket that had to be controlled by officials, coaches and police officers.
Lincoln would cruise to an 80-60 win, with Bates scoring a game-high 24 points.

The foul on Bates was committed by Pioneer's Koebe Moore, who had apparently been going after Bates most of the night. Moore was assessed a technical and a flagrant and ejected from the game. Bates was issued a technical, before knocking down both his free throws.
Video of the scuffle can be seen below.
Bates scored 12 of his points in the third quarter, all of them coming after his tussle with Moore, according to MLive.
