It's been a rough week so far for Michigan basketball.
A day after losing five-star recruit Joshua Christopher to Arizona State, Juwan Howard and the Wolverines learned that fellow five-star Isaiah Todd has decommitted and will turn pro overseas, according to Sports Illustrated.
"My dream has always been to play in the NBA," Todd told SI. "I just feel like this route will help my game grow even more. I want to be as prepared as possible when the times comes. This was a no-brainer for me."
Todd, who had committed to Michigan last October, was the top player in what was shaping up to be a loaded recruiting class. The 6'10 power forward, ranked No. 13 overall in his class by 247 Sports, chose the Wolverines over the likes of Kentucky and Kansas.
Now he's out.
"I know some people won't understand it, but this is the decision I've made," he said. "I love Coach Howard and I love Michigan, but I feel like this was the best decision for me."
Despite the loss of Todd and Christopher, Michigan has plenty of talent arriving in the fall. Its incoming class is now headlined by a trio of four-stars in C Hunter Dickinson, SG Zeb Jackson and PF Terrence Williams.
The Wolverines are also bringing in star graduate transfer Mike Smith from Columbia.
