Tom Izzo and Michigan State are trying to land one more recruit for this year's class -- and they're going over the border to do it.

The Spartans brought in five-star combo guard Karim Mane from Montreal for a virtual visit Tuesday, according to Stockrisers.com

Mane, ranked No. 25 in his class by 247 Sports, would be MSU's top recruit. The Spartans currently have commits from two four-stars in C Mady Sissoko from Utah and PG AJ Hoggard from West Virginia.

Mane, who has offers from schools across the country, has also reportedly taken virtual visits with Marquette, DePaul and Pittsburgh. He hasn't place a timetable on his decision, and the NBA Draft is an option as well.

"A big combo guard with a ton of athleticism and solid feel for the game," writes 247 Sports analyst Brian Snow. "Has extreme upside - there are very few guards who have more of it than Mane. He is at his best attacking the rim and using his strength and athleticism to make plays. Outside shot also shows potential. ...

"All the tools are there for him to be a potentially elite point guard at the college level."

Mane would be a big get for MSU, which is in danger of losing its top two players if Xavier Tillman opts for the NBA. He'd give the Spartans another playmaker in the backcourt to take some of the pressure off rising sophomore Rocket Watts.
