With the Lions trying to trade down from the No. 3 pick Thursday night, we've heard a lot about the Dolphins. Ditto the Chargers. The Giants have entered the mix as well.
Here's another team to watch: the Jaguars.
Per Adam Schefter, Jacksonville GM Dave Caldwell called Bob Quinn late Thursday afternoon to inquire about a potential trade.
Here's something worth monitoring tonight: Jaguars' GM Dave Caldwell just called Lions' GM Bob Quinn about this evening's picks, per source.
— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) April 23, 2020The Jags are currently picking No. 9. They also have pick No. 20, which would be a good starting point in a trade with Detroit. Their second-rounder (No. 42) or third-rounder (No. 73) would likely have to be in play as well.
Quinn doesn't want to move out of the draft's first tier of players, so it would take a lot to convince him to slide to No. 9.
Could the Jags go for it? They're rumored to be eyeing a quarterback, and Pete Prisco of CBS Sports has them trading up to No. 4 for Justin Herbert in his final mock draft.
One spot further would likely guarantee Jacksonville its choice between Herbert and Tua Tagovaiola. And it would likely guarantee Detroit two first-round picks, which might be enough for Quinn to start giving it some thought.
