The favorite now, four days before the start of the draft, is the player who seems
destined for Detroit: Ohio State CB Jeffrey Okudah.
According to
BetMGM, Okudah is +140 to go third overall. Tua and fellow QB Justin Herbert have the second-best odds at +400, followed by Auburn DT Derrick Brown (+450) and Clemson LB Isaiah Simmons (+900).
Okudah would give Detroit a potential No. 1 corner to replace Darius Slay and stands to contribute right away in a must-win season for Bob Quinn and Matt Patricia.
Tua are Herbert are only a possibility at No. 3 if a team like the Dolphins or the Chargers moves up. The Lions are inclined to trade down, especially if they can get the defensive player of their choosing just the same.
Brown is a notable name in this discussion. The Lions coaching staff is
reportedly smitten with the 2019 SEC Defensive Player of the Year, who could complete the team's remodeled defensive interior.
Still, Okudah remains the favorite, and for good reason.
