The recruiting trail won't get any easier for Jim Harbaugh as he tries to close the gap on the blue bloods of college football.
Michigan's top recruiter, Chris Partridge, is leaving to join Lane Kiffin's staff at Ole Miss. Mississippi announced the news Thursday.

— Ole Miss Football (@OleMissFB) January 2, 2020Partridge was hired by Harbaugh in 2015, first as director of player personnel. He later coached the linebackers and the safeties, and served as special teams coordinator for the last four seasons.
He had his biggest impact as a recruiter, helping to land the likes of Daxton Hill and Chris Hinton in last year's class alone. He also helped secure Rashan Gary in 2016, whom he coached in high school at Paramus Catholic in New Jersey.
Other Partridge recruits over the last few years include Cam McGrone, Cesar Ruiz, Aubrey Solomon and Drew Singleton.
He was named the National Recruiter of the Year by Scout in 2016 and by 247Sports in 2017.
It's not yet clear who will take over for Partridge at Michigan. Whoever it is will have big shoes to fill.
