Beilein left his post as the Wolverines coach after 12 years to take a job with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Beilein stepped down from that position last month.

During the three years he coached Simpson and Teske, Beilein guided the Wolverines to an appearance in the national championship game and two other trips to the Sweet 16.

The team announced Thursday that Senior Austin Davis will return next season for his final year of eligibility. He redshirted during the 2016-17 season.

Michigan beat Nebraska 82-58 to improve to 10-9 in Big Ten play. The Wolverines travel to Maryland on Sunday. Michigan appears most likely to be headed to the 8-9 game at noon on Thursday, March 12. The Wolveries could rise as high as the No. 7 seed, with the right combination of losses by other teams.
