For the second time in as many weeks, Jim Harbaugh has lost a key assistant from his staff.

On Wednesday linebackers coach and key recruiter Anthony Campanile left Michigan to become an assistant coach for the Miami Dolphins, per Yahoo! Sports.

Campanile spent one year at Michigan after stops at Boston College, where he served as co-defensive coordinator, and his alma mater Rutgers. He reportedly turned down the chance to become DC at Rutgers shortly before accepting his new position with the Dolphins.

Campanile, 37, helped Michigan land several recruits in the 2020 class, led by four-star safety Jordan Morant and a pair of four-star linebackers in Kalel Mullings and Osman Savage. His ties to New Jersey proved important, much like former Michigan assistant Chris Partridge, who left the program two weeks ago to join Lane Kiffin at Ole Miss.

Partridge earned National Recruiter of the Year honors in both 2016 and 2017.

For Harbaugh, it means his next two hires need to be good ones.
