The Lions ended the 2020 draft the way they started it, by selecting a defensive player from Ohio State.
At No. 235 overall, Detroit took DT Jashon Cornell.
It was the second straight pick the Lions used on a defensive tackle, a position of need they had overlooked for most of the draft. Detroit selected Utah's John Penisini one round earlier.
While Penisini is mostly a run-stuffer, Cornell has some ability to get after the passer. He started all 14 games for Ohio State last season, playing both defensive tackle and defensive end, and put up 4.0 sacks and 7.5 tackles for loss.
He'll battle for a spot on a defensive line in the midst of a makeover in Detroit.
That closes Detroit's draft class at nine players, with four of them on defense. The full list is below.
