After adding speed with their first three picks of the draft, the Lions have begun adding bulk.

Detroit selected Kentucky G Logan Stenberg No. 121 overall Saturday, after trading down seven spots with the Raiders. Stenberg will battle Jonah Jackson, one of the Lions' two third-round picks on Friday, for the starting job at right guard in the wake of Graham Glasgow's departure. He could also be in the mix at left guard.

A three-year starter at Kentucky, Stenberg played on the left side as a sophomore and on the right side as a junior and senior. He capped off his career with first-team All-SEC honors in 2019, then played in front of the Lions' coaching staff at the Senior Bowl.

Much like Jackson, he's said to play with attitude.

"Very competitive kid," said ESPN's Mel Kiper. "Never stops battling. Very intense football payer."

NFL.com draft analyst Lance Zierlein calls Stenberg a "scrappy, blue-collar guard who plays an assignment-oriented, dependable brand of football. ... He should be a capable NFL backup who can step in and hold up if he's asked to step in and start."

The Lions also added a fifth-round pick (No. 174 overall) in the trade with the Raiders.
