With their first of two fifth-round picks Saturday, the Lions added a weapon for Matthew Stafford in Wisconsin WR Quintez Cephus.
He'll join a receiving corps that features a top three of Kenny Golladay, Marvin Jones and Danny Amendola.
Cephus, known for his ability after the catch, caught 59 passes for 901 yards and seven touchdowns for the Badgers last season, all team highs.
One of his best performances of the year came against fellow Lions draft pick Jeff Okudah and Ohio State in the Big Ten Championship Game: seven catches for 122 yards. Okudah later called Cephus the toughest player he covered in college.

February 28, 2020 Cephus is a big target at 6'1, and he's not afraid to work in traffic.
"Size and body positioning create workable windows in tight quarters and his ball skills build trust with the quarterback," writes NFL.com draft analyst
Lance Zierlein. "Teams know he can catch it but will need to see him get open. Cephus is a possession receiver with the profile of a capable WR3/4."
Cephus missed the 2018 season at Wisconsin after being accused of sexual assault, but was acquitted in 2019.
