Lions Reach Contract Agreement With Jeff Okudah

Jeff Okudah is officially a Detroit Lion. 

The club reached a four-year contract agreement with Okudah on Monday, according to NFL Network. The deal includes the standard fifth-year option for a first-round pick. 


The #Lions have reached an agreement on a 4-year contract with No. 3 overall pick CB Jeff Okudah, source said. A standard deal with a fifth-year option for the touted Ohio State product.

The Lions will hope it's the start of a long and happy marriage. Okudah, one of the most polished defensive backs to ever come out of the draft, is slated to be Detroit's No. 1 corner starting this season.

Okudah Plans Offseason Workout With Chad Johnson

Here's what defensive coordinator Cory Undlin had to say about him last month, during the team's virtual offseason. 

"Jeff is driven like few men I've been around in this profession -- I know that and I can tell that, albeit (through) a Zoom call. I mean, the guy is non-stop, to the point where it's like, 'Jeff, can we not talk about football for like five minutes? Can we talk about something else? Do you do anything else?' Like, what are we doing? That's how he's wired," said Undlin.
