Matt Patricia has his new defensive coordinator.
The Lions are hiring Eagles defensive backs coach Corey Undlin, according to ESPN. Undlin and Patricia entered the NFL together in 2004 with the Patriots.
Per reports, Patricia will remain the primary play caller on defense.

Undlin, 48, has also served as the defensive backs coach for the Browns, Jaguars and Broncos. He started with the Eagles in 2015.
He'll be tasked with trying to fix a defense in Detroit that was one of the worst in the league this season. If the Lions don't make significant improvement in 2020, Undlin and Patricia will likely both be gone.
