It took them a little time, but the Lions were quite active by the end of the NFL's free-agency flurry on Monday.

They wrapped things up by agreeing to a deal with former Bears defensive lineman Nicholas Williams, according to reports. Williams, 30, will get $10 million over two years.

And given their need at that position, the Lions reportedly have more signings to come.

2 years, $10m, but again, #Lions aren't done with their DL signings. https://t.co/A74ahP9eWm

Williams is coming off a career year with the Bears in which he recorded 42 tackles, six sacks and five tackles for loss over 16 games. A seventh-round pick in 2013, he's also spent time with the Chiefs and Dolphins.

The interior of Detroit's defensive line will look much different in 2020. Gone are Damon Harrison, Mike Daniels and likely A'Shawn Robinson. Williams is the first new face to arrive as the Lions overhaul a defense that surrendered over 400 yards per game in 2019.

In addition to Williams, they agreed to a deal Monday with former Patriots linebacker Jamie Collins, who excelled under Matt Patricia in New England.

Detroit also spent big on former Eagles offensive lineman Halapoulivaati Vaitai to step in at right tackle.
