Lions GM Bob Quinn swung yet another trade with his former team over the weekend, sending CB Michael Jackson to the Patriots for a conditional seventh-round draft pick, according to reports.

It's the eighth trade Quinn has consummated with New England during his time in Detroit.

In this case, it came shortly after the Lions announced they were cutting Jackson on Sunday as they pare down their roster through the early stages of training camp. The Patriots snuck in the trade before Jackson could hit waivers.

Signed by the Lions last year off the Cowboys' practice squad, Jackson appeared in one game for Detroit: the Week 12 loss to the Redskins. He was unlikely to make the team's 53-man roster this season.
