It looks like Michigan found its point guard for next season.

Columbia grad transfer Mike Smith announced Friday he'll be joining the Wolverines. Smith, who was also considering the likes of Arizona and Gonzaga, led the Ivy League in scoring last season with 22.8 points per game.

"Ann Arbor it's demon time," he said on Twitter.

First and foremost, I would like to thank my amazing Lord and savior Jesus Christ, without whom none of this would be possible. I'm truly blessed and excited to officially say that I will be a Michigan Wolverine. Ann Arbor it's demon time -- #GoBlue 〽️ pic.twitter.com/cZLK7a3Xpp

It's a coup for Juwan Howard and Michigan, who are losing senior co-captain Zavier Simpson to graduation and rising junior David DeJulius to the transfer market. That could have left a major hole in the team's backcourt, even with its loaded recruiting class.

With Smith on board, that shouldn't be a worry. Arguably the top grad transfer available, he'll give the Wolverines an experienced ball-handler and a dynamic scorer.

Michigan was also in the running for fellow Ivy League star Bryce Aiken, who announced Thursday he's headed to Seton Hall.
