97.1 The Ticket -- Michigan linebacker Devin Gil is thanking fans, teammates and coaches for his time in Ann Arbor as he prepares to move on.
Gil announced Tuesday on Twitter that he has entered the transfer portal and is pursuing a graduate transfer role at a new school.
"I would like to thank the University of Michigan for providing me with the opportunity to earn my college degree while pursuing my love of football," Gil's post said. "I would also like to thank coach (Jim) Harbaugh and coach (Don) Brown for the knowledge that I have gained and for the experiences that I was fortunate to have participated in here at the University of Michigan."

— Devin Gil (@devin_gil) March 10, 2020Gil, who redshirted his freshman season in 2016, has one year of eligibility remaining and would be immediately eligible at his next school.
Gil saw a high amount of playing time in 2018, racking up 31 tackles and a sack in 12 games during the Wolverines' 10-3 season. He fell out of the regular rotation in 2019, spending most of his time with special teams.
