He's by no means a favorite -- and he's not yet a starter -- but Michigan quarterback Dylan McCaffrey is a candidate to win the 2020 Heisman.

That's according to the William Hill sportsbook, which gives McCaffrey 75-1 odds to win the award.

For McCaffrey, the first step is winning the job under center. He and junior Joe Milton will battle for the position in training camp, with sophomore Cade McNamara possibly having a say as well.

McCaffrey saw action in five games last season, getting most of his meaningful snaps as a runner. His dual-threat ability is what makes him a potential star in 2020. But he has a long way to go to become a legitimate Heisman candidate.

Over two seasons at Michigan, McCaffrey has completed 18 of 35 passes for 242 yards, three touchdowns and no picks. He's also rushed 23 times for 166 yards and two touchdowns. He has not started a game.

His 75-1 Heisman odds are tied for 26th with Georiga running back Zamir White and Oregon running back CJ Verdell.

The favorite is Ohio State QB Justin Fields (7/2), followed by Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence (4/1). Georgia QB Jamie Newman (10/1), Oklahoma QB Spencer Rattler (12/1) and Texas QB Sam Ehlinger (18/1) round out the top five.
