The headliner of the Tigers' draft class is Spencer Torkelson, and for good reason.

But Torkelson isn't the only name generating buzz.

National analysts are loving Detroit's haul from top to bottom.

"And when did that ever happen?" joked Scott Pleis, the club's director of amateur scouting. "We're very excited about it, in all seriousness. We thought we did very well."

So, who was the Tigers' best pick after Torkelson? That would be their last, according to a panel of analysts from MLB.com.

The trio of Jim Callis, Jonathan Mayo and Mike Rosenbaum tabbed Mississippi high-schooler Colt Keith as their favorite pick for the Tigers after the first round:

Detroit’s Draft was centered around college hitters up until the final round, when they decided to roll the dice on Keith, a Mississippi prepster whom scouts viewed as one of the premier two-way talents in the 2020 class. The Tigers selected the Arizona State recruit as a position player, preferring the 6-foot-2, 220-pound prep star's left-handed bat and solid across-the-board tools over his abilities on the mound.

Keith happened to be the third player with Arizona State ties drafted by the Tigers, who also took ASU third baseman Gage Workman in the fourth round. Pleis confirmed the Tigers will get Keith signed.

"We're going to sign all our guys," he said.

That will end Keith's career with the Sun Devils before it began.

"I saw that and I was like, man, I might not be able to get back into ASU," Pleis said. "They're going to be like, 'C'mon, Scott, give us a break.' But they're good guys out there, they do a great job (recruiting) and they know what's going to happen when they get these types of players."
