The Reggie Jackson era is over in Detroit.

Jackson and the Pistons have agreed to a buyout of the remainder of his contract, according to Adrian Wojnarowski. Jackson, whose $18 million salary was set to come off the books this offseason, plans to join the Clippers.

The Pistons are projected to have about $35 million in cap space this summer, the third most in the NBA.

It marks the end of Jackson's six-year tenure in Detroit. He arrived via trade midway through the 2014-15 season, after which he signed a five-year, $80 million deal.

He averaged 18.8 points and 6.2 assists the ensuing season, but never approached those numbers again. He put up 14.9 points and 5.1 assists over 14 games this season, after missing most of the year with a back injury.

Jackson will join a Clippers team that's sitting in third place in the West.
