Tigers Dominate MLB's Updated Ranking Of Top 100 Prospects

All the losing is starting to pay off. Thanks to several high draft picks in the past few years, the Tigers now have one of the richest farm systems in the game.

Detroit landed five players on MLB Pipeline's updated ranking of baseball's Top 100 prospects, all of them in the top 60. Only the Padres had more players overall.

The Tigers were the only team with five prospects in the top 60, and two in the top 10: Spencer Torkelson at No. 7 and Casey Mize at No. 8. That sounds about right for a pair of first overall picks.

RHP Matt Manning was No. 26, OF Riley Greene No. 33 and LHP Tarik Skubal No. 51. The latter two made considerable jumps from last year, with Greene rising from No. 46 and Skubal jumping from No. 74.

The Tigers also had several new additions to their own Top 30, including all six of their picks from this year's draft.

In addition to Torkelson, C Dillon Dingler was No. 9, OF Daniel Cabrera No. 12, 3B Colt Keith No. 23, 3B Gage Workman No. 24 and SS Trei Cruz No. 28.
