The Tigers have rarely played on national TV the past few years. That's one cost of a rebuild.
But with Major League Baseball hoping to take advantage of a brief 60-game spotlight this summer, Detroit will have five games broadcast nationally on FS1. The network announced its schedule on Tuesday.
The dates for the Tigers are below, starting with the club's first Saturday game at Comerica Park.
8/1, vs. Reds. 6 PM.
8/8, @ Pirates. 4 PM.
8/24, vs. Cubs. 7 PM.
9/12, @ White Sox. 7 PM.
9/24, @ Royals. 7 PM.
Before the season was suspended due to the coronavirus, the Tigers were also supposed to have their home opener on ESPN. That's not the case anymore. The network is slated to broadcast 10 games this season and Detroit didn't make the cut.
Hey, maybe ESPN will come to Comerica for the playoffs.
