Troy Weaver has made his first hire in the front office.

The Pistons are bringing in Bucks executive David Mincberg as an assistant general manager, according to Adrian Wojnarowski. Mincberg, who worked closely with Bucks GM Jon Horst the past three seasons, will be one of Weaver's top lieutenants in Detroit.

The Detroit Pistons are hiring Milwaukee executive David Mincberg as an assistant general manager, sources tell ESPN. Mincberg was the Bucks’ VP of Basketball Strategy, working with GM Jon Horst for the past three years.

The Pistons have lost both of their assistant GM's summer, so Mincberg was a much-needed hire. Malik Rose left the organization for a job in the NBA office, while Pat Garrity is reportedly departing when his contract expires in the offseason.

Mincberg, who officially served as VP of Basketball Strategy for Milwaukee, has also spent time as team counsel for the Grizzlies and Major League Soccer's D.C. United. He was actively involved in player personnel decisions and scouting during his time in the Memphis front office.

He figures to play a big role in Detroit's approach to the 2020 draft, with the club possibly holding a top-five pick.
