Fear of the coronavirus has reached the NBA -- and this may be just the beginning.
The Warriors announced Wednesday that Thursday night's game against the Nets at the Chase Center will be closed to the general public, shortly after the city of San Francisco placed a ban on gatherings of more than 1,000 people.
In addition, the team announced, all events through March 21 at the Chase Center will be canceled or postponed. That includes a Post Malone concert March 19.
The Warriors are offering full refunds to fans who bought tickets to Thursday's game.
Due to escalating concerns about the spread of the coronavirus, and in consultation with the City and County of San Francisco, tomorrow night's game vs. the Nets at Chase Center will be played without fans. The NBA has a conference call Wednesday for the league's 30 owners to discuss the league's next steps regarding the spread of Covid-19, with a conference call for the 30 general managers scheduled for Thursday.
