When the Detroit Lions announce their first round draft pick, many people and experts expect the team to address their defensive needs.
That was until Daniel Jeremiah of NFL.com posted his first mock draft.
The first surprise comes with former Michigan Wolverine Rashan Gary being selected second overall to the San Francisco 49ers. He might wind up with off the chart numbers from the NFL combine so maybe that's possible.
What Jeremiah has the Lions selecting eighth overall will leave Lions' fans mad if they were to actually make the same pick.
With the eighth overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, the Detroit Lions select, T.J. Hockenson - TE, Iowa.
This might be a little early for Hockenson, but he fits the physical identity the Lions have been attempting to build.
Say what? Yes, he does have the Lions selecting a tight end in the first round.
Noah Fant, also a TE from Iowa is expected to be the first tight end taken in the NFL Draft, not Hockenson.
Mel Kiper has Hockenson ranked as the fifth best tight end. How would you react if the Lions did indeed draft Hockenson.
