After one season with the Pistons, assistant general manager Sachin Gupta is moving on.
The Timberwolves have hired Gupta as their executive vice president of basketball operations, according to Shams Charania.
The Minnesota Timberwolves are finalizing hiring Detroit Pistons assistant GM Sachin Gupta as Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations, league sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium. Gupta and Gersson Rosas worked together in Houston.

Hired last summer following stints with the Rockets and 76ers, he was the team's foremost expert in analytics.
With the Timberwolves, Gupta is expected to become No. 2 in a revamped front office.
