DETROIT (97.1 The Ticket) -- The Pistons made it official on Sunday -- they have signed free agent guard Derrick Rose.

The deal was reported last Sunday on the first day NBA teams could begin negotiating contracts with free agents, but with the window now officially open, the Pistons made the formal announcement on Sunday.

Though the Pistons did not disclose terms of the deal, it was reportedly worth two years, $15 million.

Rose, a three-time All-Star and former No. 1 overall pick, Rookie of the Year and league MVP, saw a resurgent season with the Timberwolves last season, averaging 18.0 points, 4.3 assists and 2.7 rebounds per game. He appeared in 51 games, made 13 starts and recorded a career-high 50 points against the Jazz. He shot a career-best 37% from 3-point range last season.

Rose has battled injury throughout his career, including missing the 2012-13 season with a torn ACL.

With the deal now official, Rose joins free agents Markieff Morris and Tim Frazier as the newcomers to the roster. Detroit formally announced the Morris and Frazier deals on Saturday. The Pistons entered free agency with only cap exceptions to work with and have come away with three players that figure to be able to provide valuable depth.
