After hitting countless shots over four years at Michigan State, Mattt McQuaid is going to get one just down the road in the NBA.
It's a good fit for both sides. The Pistons have a need more shooters, and that's McQuaid's best talent. He hit 42.2 percent of his threes last season for the Spartans.
He's also a hound on the other end of the floor, earning Big Ten All-Defense honors as a senior.
Since Ed Stefanski took over the Pistons front office last year, the organization has made a concerted effort to acquire as many future assets as possible.
Detroit added to its stockpile of young players in Thursday night's draft by taking 18-year-old Sekou Doumbouya, 19-year-old Deividas Sirvydis and 21-year-old Jordan Bone. McQuaid is 22.
They join a group that features 22-year-olds Bruce Brown, Thon Maker and Svi Mykhailiuk and 23-year-old Khyri Thomas.
