They added two more in the top of the second, generating major buzz among Wolverine fans on social media.
But their play wasn't the only thing getting attention online -- Vanderbilt's military appreciation uniforms appeared to be quite polarizing. Some hated 'em, and some loved 'em.
Prior to the game, the Vanderbilt baseball Twitter page posted a short video explaining the ideals behind the uniform.
"Green is the color of hope. It's the renewal and well-being and the color of America's veterans," Vandy coach Tim Corbin said in the video.
