Freep.com claimed in a story some would call mighty thin soup that public sex is overtaking baseball stadiums to the point it's "a thing."
And the Valenti show couldn't help but ask: Is this really an epidemic?
The evidence is that one couple was arrested for public sex at a game in Ohio -- which, means it's an average day in Ohio. Two years ago, WDIV captured footage of a couple going at it at Comerica Park, and Maxim caught footage of Mets fans a year ago having sexual relations.
Is three incidents in three years an epidemic? Mike Valenti says a resounding no.
"I can't imagine what constitutes an epidemic, but I can't imagine anybody was looking to lose their clothes (at Opening Day.) They're going to want to add to them today," Mike Valenti said. Detroit's temperatures hovered in the 30s all day with biting winds.
Valenti said he would put a "zero point zero" on the chance someone had sex at Comerica Park on Opening Day.
On the other hand, producer Mike "Sully" Sullivan thinks there's a pretty good chance someone had sex at Tigers' Opening Day in Detroit.
"People have been drinking since 9 a.m.," he said. Valenti countered that anyone who says they had sex at Opening Day is a liar.
Several listeners texted in that they had seen sex in the parking lot at Ford Field --- though hitting it in an alley before a game is not the same thing as claiming you had sex inside Comerica Park during a game, Valenti said.
"I don't buy it, this is absolute nonsense," Valenti said.
One listener texted in that he had sex with his ex in a bathroom at Comerica.
"There's no way, at Opening Day at Comerica, that somebody pulled that off," Valenti said.
