Traverse City Releases Logo For Professional Team Called The 'Pit Spitters'

Traverse City might be one of the top vacation spots in the entire state of Michigan.

The beaches, the sunsets -- not to mention the bars, breweries and restaurants. There's something for everyone. Now, when you are visiting there is another tourist attraction. You can now watch professional baseball.

Tuesday afternoon, the city finally revealed their team name after they had been teasing if over the past week.

According to MLB.com:

When in Traverse City, Mich., you have some choices. You could go to the Dennos Museum Center for some art, check out some vineyards or hit the beach. But let's be real: You're only there for one thing, and that's cherries and the pits that you get to spit. Because why even bother eating a cherry if you're not gonna ptew them around town? 

The 'Pit Spitters' will begin the season May 28, 2018 in the Northwoods League.
