NEW ORLEANS (97.1 The Ticket) -- Millions of Americans settled in to watch Sunday's NFC Championship between the Rams and Saints from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
And millions of Americans were furious with a Saints fan in the crowd who apparently had a whistle. The sound pierced through television sets everywhere and fans took to Twitter to express their displeasure.
@nfl @CBSSports please stop the whistling during this saints rams game. Holy crap its ruining the game. #WHISTLE
— James D'Arcy (@jamesdrc11) January 20, 2019The fan with the whistle needs to be thrown out of the stadium - or murdered. Too much?
— Jamie Samuelsen (@JamieSamuelsen) January 20, 2019Can we take that whistle from whoever keeps blowing it? Please. #NFCChampionshipGame
— Ben Verlander (@Verly32) January 20, 2019Why aren't the #saints being penalized for that fan blowing a whistle every 2 seconds?
— Kevin Cook (@1CrimsonCookie) January 20, 2019It turns out, that's a man-made whistle. A notrious Saints fan, known as "Whistle Monsta" is the one behind all the madness.
Those asking about the whistles from the crowd on saints/rams game. The Saints have a super fan nicknamed "whistle man" .. no joke .. have met him many times, great guy. He wears a whistle costume to games. He has the loudest, most piercing natural whistle I have ever heard.
— MikeTirico (@miketirico) January 20, 2019ITS A PERSON, NOT EVEN A REAL WHISTLE https://t.co/mjJz85cF5m
— Tyler Moorman (@TmoormanNBA) January 20, 2019Whistle Monsta doesn't care about your tweets. He's here to win the damn game. pic.twitter.com/Y6elfBeN8X
— Barstool Sports (@barstoolsports) January 20, 2019If you could only pick one, which one would you mute for the rest of the game? #LARvsNORT: Joe BuckLike: Whistle Man pic.twitter.com/qdgzrpoECU
— DraftKings Sportsbook (@DKSportsbook) January 20, 2019The Saints had quite the home-field advantage on Sunday.
Not only was the Whistle Monsta driving everyone crazy, the Saints had the stadium going nuts with the Choppa-Style dance, the players' and fans' adopted anthem of the team, taken from a 2003 rap song.
Oh yeah! Choppa doing it for the city -- pic.twitter.com/zilaNwPo3S
— New Orleans Saints (@Saints) January 20, 2019Even the security guard is getting in on the action!! #ChoppaStyle #HomeInTheDome @Saints pic.twitter.com/d34dDCJ8dJ
