97.1 The Ticket -- The Tigers pulled off a pair of deals in the final hour before Wednesday's MLB trade deadline,
sending closer Shane Greene to Atlanta and shipping outfielder
Nicholas Castellanos to the Cubs, with the latter trade reportedly happening just minutes before the 4 p.m. buzzer. Reports of the trade did not surface until after the deadline.
Castellanos was initially in the Tigers' starting lineup for their 4 p.m. series finale at Los Angeles -- he was even in uniform in the dugout and ready to play just minutes before the game was set to start.
Castellanos disappeared from the dugout and came back minutes later in an undershirt to say goodbye to his teammates.
As Nicholas Castellanos gives his teammates his farewell, we remind you that Al Avila, @Tigers Exec. VP of Baseball Ops. and GM, will be joining us to talk about today's moves. #TradeDeadline pic.twitter.com/YVVbGyqQhk

July 31, 2019 The scene was reminiscent of the 2014 trade deadline when the Tigers removed center fielder Austin Jackson from the game in the middle of an at-bat, as the Tigers struck a last-minute deal with the Tampa Bay Rays to bring David Price to Detroit.
Castellanos' tenure in Detroit ends after six seasons. He played in 837 games for the Tigers, hitting .273 with 104 homers and 424 RBI.
