97.1 The Ticket -- This year's MLB All-Star Game featured something a little different -- broadcasters Joe Buck and John Smoltz were having conversations with several players throughout the game.

Wearing ear pieces and microphones, the players provided some insight to the booth we don't get to see very often.

During the first inning, Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman had some fun with it, asking Buck and Smoltz to relay the signs between AL starter Justin Verlander and Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez.

"They're gonna tell me what's coming," Freeman yelled out to Verlander on the mound.

The former Tiger struck Freeman out on four pitches, and the mics caught Verlander telling Freeman he should have swung at an inside pitch on an 0-2 count.

What did you think of the conversations between broadcasters and players throughout the night?
