It's something you might see in movies or television shows. A suspect is running from police past cars and at just the right moment, someone opens a car door and knocks the person to the ground.

Well, it actually happened in real life and it was caught on video.

According to the Jacksonville Police in Texas, they were trying to stop a man in a stolen vehicle when he fled on foot through a Chick-fil-A parking lot, past a line of vehicles waiting in the drive-thru line.

One man took things into his own hands to help police - he threw open the door to his truck just as the suspect reached his vehicle. It knocked him off-balance enough to allow the pursuing officer to catch him and apprehend him.

In a Facebook post, the department wrote that "the 'HANGRY' (but helpful) citizen reminded the suspect as to why you should never run from the police."
