Throughout the years, the Batman franchise has taken on many tones. The original series had plenty of comedy, while the more recent versions are full of action and drama. Now, director Matt Reeves has revealed his upcoming version may bring the franchise into a completely new genre. According to Matt Reeves, ‘The Batman’ is “almost a horror movie.”

With ‘The Batman’ only a few months away from its highly anticipated debut, fans are starting to get desperate, hoping to find out any new details about the film before it’s released. During a recent interview, director Matt Reeves gave fans a little something, explaining that his 2 hour and 55 minute film is more than just a superhero movie. “This idea of a place that is corrupt, and you try to swim against the tide in order to fight against it and make a difference, is quintessential Batman…And so this story is, in addition to being almost a horror movie, and a thriller, and an action movie, at its core, it’s also very much a detective story,” said Reeves.
